Robert Heller PhD

Robert HellerRobert Heller received his doctorate in counseling psychology from Boston University. He has worked with children, adolescents and families in his capacity as a certified school psychologist and has taught counseling and psychology at the undergraduate, graduate and professional levels.

He was awarded the distinguished diplomate in behavioral psychology by the American Board of Behavioral Psychology and then by the American Board of Professional Psychology in recognition of achieving the highest standards and competencies in professional psychology.

Dr Heller has received advanced training in the use of hypnosis and earned certification as a “hypnosis consultant”. He uses hypnosis both as a separate treatment approach and often incorporates it in his work with clinical and non-clinical clients.

As a athlete, he competed in numerous individual and team sports throughout his youth and then specialized in tennis, playing on both high school and college varsity teams. He taught tennis, competed regularly in tournaments and has won several local and statewide titles. Dr Heller is certified as both a tennis teaching professional through the USPTA and as a personal fitness instructor. He works with recreational, elite and professional athletes on and off the court to help them perform at their best.

He is currently an adjunct professor at Lynn University where he teaches Sports Psychology and Applied Counseling Skills.
